Copyright Policies
Copyright and Licensing

When you publish in MNK Publication journals, you, the author, retain full copyright over your work. Our articles are licensed under the open access Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 license. This means anyone, anywhere, can freely download, read, and share your paper. Imagine a student in a remote village or a researcher in a bustling city accessing your work without any barriers. They can reuse and quote your article, provided they cite the original version. This approach ensures your research gets the maximum exposure and you receive proper credit for your hard work. If your article requires a different license due to specific conditions, such as funding restrictions, simply inform our editorial office when you submit your manuscript. These exceptions are considered by the publisher on a case-by-case basis.

Reproducing Published Material from Other Publishers

Picture this: you're finalizing your manuscript and realize you need to include a crucial figure from another source. It’s essential to get permission for reproducing any material that’s not public domain or for which you don't hold the copyright. This includes figures, tables, and text extracts. Here’s what you need permission for:

  • Your Own Works Published Elsewhere: If another publisher holds the copyright.
  • Significant Extracts: Large portions of text from other works.
  • Tables, Graphs, Charts, Schemes, and Artworks: If used as-is or slightly modified.
  • Photographs: If you don’t own the copyright.

No Permission Needed For:
  • Reconstructed Tables: If you recreate your own tables with previously published data (just cite the source).
  • Short Quotes: Reasonably short quotes fall under fair use.
  • Redrawn Figures: Graphs, charts, schemes, and artworks that are completely redrawn and significantly altered.
Obtaining Permission

To keep your publication timeline on track, start seeking permissions as early as possible. Think of it as clearing the runway for a smooth takeoff. If you're ever in doubt, it's safer to apply for permission. MNK Publication cannot publish material from other sources without proper permissions. For acknowledgements, use the format: "Reproduced with permission from [author], [book/journal title]; published by [publisher], [year]," at the end of the caption of the table, figure, or scheme.
