Open access publication proposes a relatively new model for scholarly journal publishing that provides immediate, worldwide, barrier-free access to the full-text of all published articles. Open access allows all interested readers to view, download, print, and redistribute any article without a subscription, enabling far greater distribution of an author's work than the traditional subscription-based publishing model. Many authors in a variety of fields have begun to realize the benefits that open access publishing can provide in terms of increasing the impact of their work.

APC Paying Methods

The submitting author needs to arrange payment of the article-processing charge. Following the peer review, once a manuscript has received editorial acceptance in principle, the article-processing charge becomes payable and formatting checks on the manuscript will commence. Once formatting checks are completed, and payment of the article-processing charge has been received, the article will be published. MNK Publication supports the following payment methods:

Journal Publication Process

An open access model, the publication costs of an article are paid from an author's research budget, or by their supporting institution, in the form of Article Processing Charges. These Article Processing Charges replace subscription charges and allow publishers to make the full-text of every published article freely available to all readers. In addition, authors who publish in our open access journals retain the copyright of their work, which is released under a 'Creative Commons Attribution License,' enabling the unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction of an article in any medium, provided that the original work is properly cited.

MNK Publication publishes its journals in full open access format, allowing the scientific community and the general public to access all content for free as soon as it is published online. This commitment to open access means MNK Publication does not generate income from selling subscriptions to print or online versions of its journals. Therefore, to cover editorial and production costs, MNK Publication collects a one-time Article Processing Charge (APC) from authors' institutes or research funding bodies, ensuring these charges are kept minimal.

The APC supports various publishing activities, including peer review management, professional production of articles in multiple formats, and wide dissemination of published papers. Notably, there are no extra charges for rejected articles, submission fees, figures, or supplementary data. Additionally, items like editorials, corrections, addendums, retractions, and comments are published at no cost. This approach ensures a transparent and fair publishing process, making high-quality research accessible to all.

Peer Review Process

MNK Publication provides a high degree of assistance to Academic Editors, allowing them to focus solely on editorial decisions. In-house editors invite reviewers, collect review reports, communicate with authors and reviewers, and correspond about revisions.

Article Production

Includes copy-editing, typesetting, XML and PDF conversion, and language editing. The APC covers minor English editing by native speakers but does not include extensive English editing.

Proofreading

Corresponding with authors to approve the final text and request any missing information.

Editorial Support

Handling questions and support requests before submission, during the editorial and peer-review process, or post-publication.

Journal Management & Development

In-house Managing Editors track key performance indicators of each journal, monitor competing journals and trends, provide reports, and hold discussions with the Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Board.

Indexing & Archiving

A dedicated team works to continuously expand post-publication coverage of all journals within main academic databases, scope-specific databases, and country-specific journal ranking lists.

DOI Assignment

A digital object identifier (DOI) is a persistent identifier or handle used to uniquely identify objects, standardized by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). DOIs are extensively employed to identify academic, professional, and government information, including journal articles, research reports, data sets, and official publications. Mink Publication assigns a DOI to each published manuscript, with the publisher bearing the cost to the DOI agency to maintain the publication link. Furthermore, DOIs are also utilized to identify other types of information resources, such as commercial videos.

Editorial Compensation

MNK Publication pays a travel grant or stipend to all Editors-in-Chief and provides a share of the revenue to societies whose journals they publish.

Marketing and Promotion

Allocates part of its income to promote journals and articles through sponsorships of conferences, scholarly society events, and other promotional activities. It also offers a series of awards to support researchers.

Discounts and Waivers

MNK Publication is committed to supporting the transition to fully open access. They regularly offer APC waivers or discounts, waiving approximately 50% of their content each year. For journals with low funding levels, APCs are typically waived . Authors from low- and middle-income countries may receive waivers . MMNK journal and authors from institutions participating in the Institutional Open Access Program also benefit from discounts.

Sources for Article Processing Charges (APC)

Authors of an article are responsible for arranging the payment of APC. Still, that typically does not mean that authors end up paying for the publication of the article. The cost of APC is very often assumed either by the organization funding the research published in the article, or by an Open Access Publishing Fund, or by the institution at which the author is employed.

Refund Policy

Once an article has been accepted for publication, any Article Processing Charges on the article become due. The submitting author assumes responsibility for the Article Processing Charges, and MNK Publication will not issue refunds of any kind after the publication and acceptance of Manuscript.
